Introducing Bomi Jang, our new People and Culture Generalist

A big welcome to Bomi Jang (she/her), who has joined our team as People and Culture Generalist! As Achieve’s first staff member to focus solely on human resources, Bomi is responsible for managing all general HR functions, as well as tending to organizational values and climate as we work to build an anti-racist, nourishing and inclusive culture for our staff.  

Bomi brings almost a decade of experience in human resources, training and development, as well as diversity and inclusion initiatives in both for-profit and non-profit sectors. With her practical knowledge in human resources and personal values in sustainable development, she has demonstrated inclusive leadership throughout her career by capitalizing on individuals’ strengths to ensure that they fulfill their maximum potential.

“I’m happy to be at Achieve, which supports equitable quality education and access to career opportunities for young people, along with strong values in diverse and inclusive culture, growth mindset, and employee engagement,” she says. “In this new role, I hope to contribute to Achieve’s commitment to creating a great workplace where people from various backgrounds can fulfill their maximum potential.”

Bomi holds a master’s degree in human resources and industrial relations from the University of Minnesota and a MBA from Hamline University with an emphasis on data analytics. In her spare time, she enjoys running, rock climbing, snowboarding, singing and doing Taekwondo. She also loves learning about new cultures and trying new foods, especially spicy ones!
