Emma Contreras
Emma Contreras

Emma joined AchieveMpls after graduating from the University of Minnesota in 2015 with a BA in political science and Asian languages and literature. Her experience working for the GLBTA Programs Office and Orientation & First-Year Programs at the U helped develop her passion for student advocacy and combating barriers to success in education.

Emma has also worked as an intern for US Senator Amy Klobuchar, where she got the chance to assist caseworkers with constituent services. She is a mentor for the Simpson Housing Services’ high school program and considers her mentee to be a major source of inspiration in her everyday work as the STEP-UP Achieve Manager of Youth Services.

When she’s not working, there’s a good chance you can find Emma running outdoors, reading or spending time with friends.
