Lauren joined AchieveMpls after completing her master’s degree in Public Policy at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs. While in school, she was a Graduate Research Assistant at the Public and Nonprofit Leadership Center and worked to increase understanding among policymakers, community members and the research community.
Lauren previously worked at International Justice Mission, a global organization based in Washington, DC, on the Government Relations & Advocacy team. She encouraged advocates across the Midwest to lobby their elected officials to support U.S. policies that would end global slavery. She has also interned at the Government Accountability Office in Washington, D.C, the research arm for the U.S. Congress. In college, Lauren lived in Honduras where she studied international development and Spanish, and experienced the importance of social justice and advocacy work.
Lauren is passionate about using her research and policy analysis skills to evaluate and improve AchieveMpls programs and share the impact of these programs with partners, funders and the community at-large. A Minnesota native, when she’s not in the office you’ll find her coaching figure skating, running by the lakes and exploring the city with family and friends.
