Introducing Achieve College Internships

Our new program connects college juniors with professional training, paid summer internships, mentors and industry networks that can help  launch their careers in the Twin Cities.

Achieve College Interns

After a one-year pilot program, we’re excited to introduce our new Achieve College Internships, which connect college juniors with high-quality paid summer internships, mentors and professional networks that can help launch their careers in the Twin Cities.

The new program was created to provide career-building opportunities for college juniors – particularly Minneapolis Public Schools graduates and alums of the Step Up Youth Employment Program – who are underrepresented in our workforce and local college internship programs. It also helps employers strengthen their recruitment and retention of talented, diverse students who want to begin their careers in the Twin Cities.

Achieve College Internships are open to MPS and Step Up alums who are currently full-time college juniors, have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher and are on track to graduate in 2022.

In preparation for internships, participants receive expert coaching in clarifying their career goals, preferred companies and job roles, and in strengthening their application materials and interview skills. During their 10-12 week paid summer internships, they work with industry experts, gain key hands-on experience in their chosen field and build long-term professional connections.

Intern applications are now closed for summer 2021, but we are looking for prospective employers who are interested in hiring interns. For more information, contact Jeremiah Brown.
