Amber is a community organizer and passionate youth advocate, originally from Chicago. She is excited to support our Graduation Coaches program and connect more community members to MPS students through mentorship.
Amber graduated from the University of Minnesota with honors in 2015 with a B.A. in African-American & African Studies and a minor in political science. While in college, she implemented high school summer programs for the Minnesota Historical Society, was a Beacons Counselor at Lucy C. Laney Elementary School and was a McNair Scholar.
Since graduating, she has been a community organizer in the Twin Cities in education policy, with a focus on education equity and racial justice issues in public education.
In her free time, you will often find Amber volunteering in the community with her sorority and other local organizations, cooking, traveling or catching up on her favorite TV shows.
