A recent review of the facts showed boys, not girls, on the weak side of an educational gender gap. Boys, on average, are a year and a half behind girls in reading and writing; they are less comitted to school and less likely to go to college. Re-engaging young boys in learning means understanding that boys and girls learn differently. These differences are critical and must influence professional staff development, curriculum and pedagogy.
GISE programming caters to 4th-8th grade and focuses on science and engineering using hands-on and collaborative projects in robotics, physics, and many other topics.
