“Every year I’ve had STEP-UP Achieve interns, not only do they accomplish a lot of work, but they learn from one another," says Deb Greising, an experienced STEP-UP Achieve supervisor and manager of Thrivent Financial's IT General Controls Office.

Greising has been a STEP-UP supervisor since 2009.  She always requests interns who have an interest in technology, and these young people leave their internships with a full summer of exposure in the IT field.  “We make sure that our interns get introduced to every facet of IT,” says Deb. "Interns work on projects in many departments and spend time with staff in a wide range of IT roles." 

 “STEP-UP Achieve is not only a huge win for our department, but it’s also a major opportunity for students to see technology as a whole,” says Deb.  “It’s an awesome experience, not only for me, but for my team and all of IT.”
