Mini-Grants for MPS Teachers

Several mini-grants are available to Minneapolis teachers and occasionally other licensed staff. These awards fund a variety of classroom projects and professional development experiences, benefiting students, classrooms, and teachers. Awards run the gamut from funding transportation for Andersen students to attend Starbase to sending a teacher to Oxford to study English literature. See specific guidelines and application information below.

The Assistance League of Minneapolis/St. Paul (ALMSP) offers Links to Learning classroom grants to pre-K-8 grade classrooms. 2011-12 grant deadline was October 24. Check back next fall.

Community Learning Fund

This grant program pays for field trip buses! Grants for the 2011-12 school year have been awarded.

Fund for Teachers

The Fund for Teachers program provides up to $5,000 for individuals or up to $10,000 for teams to fund extraordinary personal and professional enrichment opportunities for licensed personnel who have extensive and direct contact with students. The application deadline for 2012 Fellows has passed. Check back here next fall.

Pierce Teacher Recognition Awards

The Pierce Professional Development Award is open to MPS teachers with more than five years of service to MPS and is intended to support professional development activities (an advanced degree, additional teaching license, additional certificate, or to cover/defray the cost of a professional development experience.)

Win Wallin Teacher Training Scholarship

The Win Wallin Teacher Training Scholarship supports the professional development of teachers within their first five years of teaching and is intended to support professional development activities (an advanced degree, additional teaching license, additional certificate, or to cover/defray the cost of a professional development experience.)
