U.S. Bank is proud to partner with AchieveMpls. Our most in-depth engagagement is with the STEP-UP Achieve summer jobs program. AchieveMpls works to develop a true partnership by understanding the organizational culture of the companies they partner with and then working to support that culture.  The professionalism of the AchieveMpls team is second to none.

How does your partnership with AchieveMpls meet your organization’s interests?

U.S. Bank’s involvement with AchieveMpls begins with living our mission: “We put the Power of US to work for you.”  At U.S. Bank we feel it is our responsibility to serve and support the communities where we live and work.  This is not only giving back to the community--it’s being a part of a solution that has proven benefits for students and their families and  the community as whole.  

Participating with the STEP-UP Summer Jobs Program has both short-term and long-term value. In the short term, we are contributing to providing meaningful work for students. Long-term value includes grooming future talent, developing leaders and supporting the community.   

What do you find most rewarding about your work with AchieveMpls?

In addition to U.S. Bank’s partnership with AchieveMpls, the rewards include providing students hands-on, real life work experience.  It’s an opportunity to support a program that allows students to apply skills that are taught in the classroom and skills often learned only by being in the workplace.  Students learn from us, and in return we learn from the students. Lastly, hiring interns as full-time employees is the biggest reward and speaks to the success of the partnership with AchieveMpls.

Would you encourage other organizations to get involved?

It is a win-win for everyone.  Working with AchieveMpls is a partnership in every sense of the word -- it supports the STEP-UP Summer Jobs Program from start to finish by providing materials and tools to manage a successful program.  The people with AchieveMpls are always open and willing to implement innovative ideas to further improve an already successful program. Consider this a long term recruiting effort. After all, who doesn’t remember the organization they worked for when they received their first paycheck?
