G.E. Capital partners with AchieveMpls for multiple reasons. First, their focus and goals mirror ours. We are working to support academic achievement and promote a culture of responsibility and success at Roosevelt High School.  Second, the staff at AchieveMpls is knowledgeable, organized and enthusiastic about helping the educational community.  All of our questions and concerns are addressed expeditiously, the events are well prepared and the quality of work reflects their passion.  Lastly, we understand that we have a lot to learn from AchieveMpls.  For us to grow as an organization we need to find best practices within the Minneapolis educational community and AchieveMpls has been doing this successfully for a long time. 

How does your involvement meet your organization’s interests?

GE Capital places a high priority on volunteering and involvement in the community. Our largest volunteer base is involved with our Roosevelt High School and the Mentoring Program. This is a perfect marriage for our two organizations that fortifies our program, making it as successful as possible. Through the continued evolution of our program we will acquire more positive visibility within the GE community, promoting future support and involvement.  We can really show how GE Capital is making a difference in the community.

What do you find most rewarding about your work with AchieveMpls? 

We know that we aren’t alone in these challenges.  We have the support of an experienced organization that is just as passionate as we are.  We know that we are all making a difference in the lives of MPS students.  It’s a great feeling to have such a supportive group of people working towards the same goals and seeing the progress along the way.

Why would you recommend another organization to get involved?

Achieve Minneapolis is an unsurpassed resource for promoting and supporting education success within the urban community.  They have a framework set up that brings the districts needs and the schools vision together to achieve the overall goals of each.  Achieve is a true advocate for the success of the Minneapolis Public Schools.
