AchieveMpls is the strategic nonprofit partner of the Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS). We work closely with the MPS Superintendent and district staff to accomplish our shared goal of every student career and college ready. This strong collaboration enables us to dramatically improve outcomes for all young people in the district.

In this partnership, AchieveMpls

• Raises millions of dollars for MPS strategic initiatives, including early literacy, career and college readiness, Arts for Academic Achievement, STEM programs (science, technology, engineering and math), AVID (a college preparatory curriculum), and leadership training for principals
• Provides administrative support for more than 100 individual school funds, department funds, and scholarships and mini-grants for MPS classrooms, students and teachers
• Partners with MPS to ensure that all students receive the personal support they need to prepare for college and careers through the AchieveMpls Career & College Centers, and works with the City of Minneapolis STEP-UP Achieve summer jobs program

AchieveMpls is also an independent nonprofit with its own mission, goals, and programs. We play a critical role as an intermediary between MPS and the public that supports our schools with its tax dollars and volunteer service. As a bridge organization, we seek to express both the public’s support and its concern when there is need for improvement.

We also provide a critical link between MPS and generous community partners, including corporate, foundation, nonprofit and individual funders, volunteers, and advisers.
